Question regarding forum categories

I have a question if somebody has an idea for a new form category where do we post it

Hey Paul wouldn it be worth it or manageable to start a forum category that might allow for some more conflict . Not horrible races ranting and general vulgarity but a category that you might just needs some thicker skin to be in . I understand that this is your forum but would you agree that some healthy conflict is helpful to certain individuals who like to communicate in this way and if there's a place that we can do it that it doesn't affect everybody else and that might work ? Could your moderators Just send a particular thread over to thick skin category if it seems like it's getting too intense ? This is just a thought but I know that there's a lot of people out there on this form like me that like to communicate with a bit of sharpness because it feels good to our intellect to be a straightforward and possibly clever witty/small job this is just a thought but I know that there's a lot of people out there on this form like me that like to communicate with a bit of sharpness because it feels good to our intellect to be a straightforward and possibly clever witty. I've moved your post to the tinkering with this site forum.

Right now we have the Cider Press forums as an area for a little more 'uncensored' discussion but you have to have achieved a certain number of apples to be able to post there, our feeble way of making sure that it doesn't just turn into some kind of troll fest/shouting match.

Here's a Link to the thread describing the cider press area. It's really more of an area for hot-button topics vs hot-headed discussions but it's the closest I think you're going to get. Really, discourse like you are describing fits the PM system better than the public forums. Seems to me Paul really want's this to be a place where people can come see the best face of friendly permaculture innovation and collaboration, not a bunch of bickering.

As I see it, the problem with creating a combat arena in a forum is that it attracts gladiators: If gladiators are allowed to fight in the combat arena, then it's often difficult for the gladiator to remember to not pick fights at the bar, or on the street, or at church, or by purple moosage... (Earlier today a gladiator went after me in a purple moosage.) I'd prefer that this site remain a safe haven: Free and clear of the conflict that is so prevalent on (many) other forums. There are plenty of places on the Internet for people that like to quarrel. The thing I like most about permies.com is that this isn't one of those places.
