New sub-forum under Building for all things Rammed Earth?

I'd like to propose that there be a sub-forum called "Rammed Earth" under the main Building category.  It would be great to have one forum to poke around in and post to rather than the general Building or natural building sub-category.  I also see that there is Earth Bag which, as far as I know, is also called "flexible form rammed earth"...not sure if that should be its own category or a sub category under Rammed Earth.  

I don't know anything about rammed earth and very little about building, so I'm going to ask some questions.  They may be really obvious, so forgive me.  They are the kinds of questions we ask when thinking about making a new forum.

Is there a forum that is really close?  If so, does it have any text at the top of the forum that could be altered to include the new topic?

If not, do we have a forum that could fit the topic with a slight tweak of the name?

Alternatively, do we have 50 or more threads on that topic that could be used to populate the new forum?  It's the chicken and the egg question - what comes first content or forum? (hint, dinosaurs were around long before chickens).  We need to populate the forum quickly for ...reasons.  So we need at least 50 threads on that topic (100 is better).

And if we have 50 threads, would moving them to the new forum, leave an older forum empty?  

Summery, it might be possible to make the new forum, we just got to look at the questions and then see if a staff member is interested in volunteering their time to make it happen.

I think if there were a few more good threads on the subject it might be a good idea, if you can find a staff member willing to put in the work. I'm scarcely keeping my head above water at the moment...

There are several forums in our Natural and Off-Grid Building Forum where this might fit.

My first thought was the Earthship Forum. I could be wrong but is rammed earth used in building an Earthship?

From what I recall, Earthship building uses tires that you fill / ram earth into.  However, I feel Earthship is on a totally different level (much more implied in the design) than the typical "rammed earth" home or structure.  It may need to stay in its own category, but it does seem to incorporate some similarities.

Just to be clear, we are talking about creating a new forum called "rammed earth" in the building category.  (we don't have sub-forums here)

That said, I think it is a lovely idea - provided somebody on staff wants to do the work to get it started and John is cool with getting a dozen threads of conversation going there to get it off the ground.

Thanks Paul!  Yes, I would be willing to come up with a dozen threads...already have some ideas in addition to my first one on the subject Rammed Earth Formwork.  We could get that moved over to start things out.

For complicated reasons,  we need to populate the forum within a few hours of making it.  It is best if we can get the threads first.

Maybe put a list of existing threads here?  That way the staff member doesn't have to know a lot about the subject and we are more likely to get a volunteer.

50 plus threads is ideal,  but not a firm rule.

Ok, I'll start a running list of what I find on this subject and keep a tally as I search through the forum.  I did a broad search for "rammed earth" across the forums and it said there were 642 threads, but I only could access 57 threads.  Out of those, I sifted through them to see which I though was a good fit and could be moved to a separate forum:
