Forum Fan/Stalker feature

Is there a feature to follow a specific member on the forum?
There are a few people I would like to follow and get alerts when they post, in the same way I get email alerts for watched forums or threads.
Which sounds kind of creepy. But I promise is innocent. lol
If this option is available, can someone point me in the right direction, because I can't find it.
And it it's not, would it be hard to implement?

I feel like I vaaaguely remember something like this being discussed not too long ago, but I don't think it a thing yet.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Can anyone else remember?

That's not a feature the forum software supports just now. It's quite a nice idea though, perhaps we'll add that in the future. Maybe...

I had forgotten about the RSS feature. I was thinking along the lines of email notifications like you get when subscribing to a thread. So there you have it, you can follow people.

I regularly click on the name of certain quarrelsome members, so I can watch for problems.

RSS works but I was thinking email notifications like thread subscriptions. I haven't used an RSS Reader since Google canned theirs. Any suggestions for an alternative reader?

I've been using Feedly and its pretty decent. There's a free version and a pay version - I just use the free version. IIRC it imported all my Google Reader feeds.

[When Google was canceling theirs I did some research and picked Feedly. Haven't bothered looking for anything better since then, so there might be.]

I tried to stalk Tim and clicked on something......RSS? I got a long list of gobblety-gook computer-speak with some titles of threads thrown in. I am not real computer smart and cannot decipher all that. I clicked on everything on that list and it opened nothing. So if I truly wanted to stalk Tim and read what he posted, I couldn't get there from that particular page. But then maybe I am missing something......

Yes, that code is the RSS feed data that your RSS reader knows what to do with.

So what you would do, if you want to follow Tim and read all his posts, is to copy the URL (right click on it and select "Copy link address" or "Copy URL") and then add it to your RSS reader (which can be different depending on your reader). Then all Tim's posts will show up in the reader. RSS is a really cool technology that doesn't get enough use IMHO.
