Looking for some assistance with info on converting or changing your system in your home. From a propane boiler to a wood boiler.. OWB. I have it hooked to a heat exchanger now, that when the propane boiler calls for water, it goes through the exchanger that is heated by the wood boiler. My question is about the propane boiler. Does it kick on even if the water it is drawing is already heated to temp? Turning off the gas, shuts it down, turning off the pump controled by it. So I want the propane boiler to do its thing. but I want my heat to be provided by my wood. The system will work by bipassing the propane boiler entirely, but that would cost another couple hundred for me to do. I want it to work the way it is, I just am not certain I am saving propane, or wasting wood...
