I've been gone quite awhile from this forum, but like a lot of things, I'm recycling my time between sites. To be honest, I no longer have the stamina to be someone's 'manual laborer' in the field and on the farm. I'm just hoping to round out the sunset part of my life in a good setting, with a good man, and hopefully not be kidnapped by a psychopath, or abducted by an alien in the process, LOL!
Seriously, I would just consider it a major miracle if I could hit it off with a great guy. Online dating sites usually don't team with permie types; even the 'farmers only' sites are full of posers or recliner lizards. I find my own fatigue limits my physical activities, so I don't fault someone if they can no longer navigate through the day like a 24-yr old, but I don't like the idea of getting emotionally involved with someone who doesn't at least like to get his hands dirty on occasion, either. Someone who watches their weight is a big plus. I consider myself 'average in build for a woman my age and height (63 yrs, 5'8-1/2" tall), and if knowing my poundage is a pre-requisite to further conversation, I'll email that information to you. Because of some medical weirdities that occured in my life the past two years, my exercise routine was severely altered, but I have recently purchased a treadmill and plan to get my daily walking in that way. And during the warm months in Michigan, I do all my own yardwork (mowing, leafblowing and raking, etc etc), so I'm not a slouch.
I'm a widow, with grown kids (of course, at my age), I work full-time, and I'm slowly downsizing my home and possessions. Ideally, I'd like to be in the western United States, where I don't have to fight the wet, cold winters every year. I have NO desire to meet anyone who can't fend for himself financially; I'm not looking to bankroll anyone. I do believe in marriage, even if it means a pre-nup, and while I try to stay optimistic about meeting a great partner in life, I'm mentally and emotionally prepared to go the distance alone, if that's where fate leads me. Not opposed to meeting someone 45-65 yrs old, if the chemistry is there.
