I saw in a magazine once, that some permaculturists turned the municipal
compost toter into a chicken shelter: it has an easily-closed door that can be secured with a bungee cord; the door doubles as a roof over the threshold; it can be wheeled around easily once it's tipped up; it is easy to clean with a hose; and of course they aren't putting good compostables out on the curb.
