I hope there's someone who is tech savvy who can help me. My smartphone is going to make me pull my hair out! I don't know if it has a bug, but that's what I'm guessing. I thought my troubles were because I have horrible internet speed but there are things messing up that have to do with texts also.

Recently, I have been asked by several people whether I received the texts they sent. No I didn't. Last night someone sent me a short text (3 sentences). It came in 4 separate sections (the first and third were identical) and these four sections took two hours to trickle onto my phone.

Today, I was on Reddit. When I would try to view the things I am subscribed to I would get a message saying that I don't have access and to contact moderators. After several tries I got in, finally. No moderators needed. Then when I tried to post a reply, I hit send and the message said " You've done that too many times. Wait 8 minutes and try again." Did what too many times? I only hit send once.

While waiting 8 minutes, I went to YouTube. Tried to post a reply there and fisrt time I hit send - I lost everything I wrote and had to write it again because I didn't save it. That could have been a signal strength issue. Next time I tried it showed a message really fast that started with "YouTube cannot..."  I couldn't read it fast enough. When I viewed the message I sent, only part of it had showed up. I deleted the post for now. I turned the phone off for awhile (couple hours) to see if it resets it's brain.

The Permies site has been misbehaving too. Recently, half of the home page was normal and the other half looked like computer coding with lots of numbers and characters. Also, when posting, if I have an address on the clipboard and I hit the URL button, the http that's already there in the box, I have to try multiple times to erase it so I can paste there. It seems stuck and refuses to erase. I just now realized there's nothing on this reply page below the text box I'm typing in. Oy! I can't even send what I'm typing now. I'll have to save, exit, retry.

I have Android on a Motorola phone. I use Chrome to access the internet. I had Norton antivirus installed until just lately, when the free subscription ran out. Then I switched to 360 Security.

If this is a bug what can I do?

Karen, I'd report that behavior to your cell provider. They will likely ask if you have it fully updated to the latest phone OS and the like. Good luck on that.

Still around the forums, reading lots and trying to keep up with all the great posts of late. Still having dumbphone issues. Here's an example of the "computer coding" that shows up sometimes when I try to access the Recents List. This was today's WTF. Frustrating and over my head. ⤵
