I am amazed by the price of poultry stunning equipment. Is there anyone out there who can share their owner manuals electrical schematic? I will build one and share the process.

I'm thinking that I may be able to repurpose an old microwave. But not quite sure I'm really ready to experiment on living animals. I have equipment to test it. But would like to know and have a extensive knowledge before actually using the device. For obvious reasons

Interesting post.....one of my many interests is electronics......

You could download this from the U.K. Humane Slaughter Association :

www.hsa.org.uk/downloads/hsagn7electricalwaterbathpoultry1.pdf

The charts there show 370 volts at 0.1 amps are enough to go past "electro-immobilization" and into a state of "electrocution".

Microwave transformers delivering 1000 watts are around 2200 volt and 0.5 amp.  There is enough there to guarantee that you will go before the fuse....and you don't even have to touch it.....it will jump a short air-gap.....

Electrocuting chickens sounds like a pretty iffy way of doing things....even the commercial operations don't get it right all the time.....I think the animal rights groups call it "torture".....

Justin Rhodes of Permaculture Chickens has a good video of butchering chickens using a home-made "killing cone"

But how did the elephant get like that? What did you do? I think all we can do now is read this tiny ad:
