Lost Valley Educational Center, a 27-year-old sustainability center and international community, is offering two permaculture design courses in 2017 - summer and fall. Each course runs 1 day per week for 12 weeks and grants a certificate on completion. Onsite examples of pc in action are featured in the course. Folks commute from Eugene (30 mins. away) and have come from as far as Portland and Ashland. Because you pay for the instruction only (no lodging or meals) it's a better price than intensive courses. The schedule allows for working people to take the course without using vacation time, or try to cram it all in their brain in 12 straight days. More info at http://lostvalley.org/pdc-track/.
Want more than that? Come for the full Holistic Sustainability Semester. It's a 3-month immersion in 5 sides of sustainability (personal, social, ecological, worldview, and economic), and grants two certificates upon completion (PDC + EDE). Classes 3 days per week are reinforced by immersion in the aspiring ecovillage of 50-60 people living in healthier ways with each other and the natural world. Runs each spring, summer, and fall.
