My son is working on the screen door that I've been moithering about for years.

It's lightweight aluminium but he's fitting some wood strips to strengthen it and make it easier to attach the mozzie mesh.

The mesh is going up.

We built a frame so that it would be a snug fit to keep the door closed.

This is the screen door in use.

We have a couple of small, temporary handles just to let us out and be able to close the thing behind us when we leave the house.

Two door handles are in the process of being molished for the screen door.

My husband is feeling vindicated in his decision to buy all those bags of wood offcuts last winter as there were some nice strips of very pretty wood just perfect for this job.

More photos to follow when we've done the finishing touches.

Stumpy the house-dragon isn't sure if he likes this newfangled screen door thing. Not many bugs seem to be finding their way through it. Which might mean he goes hungry.

I never thought of that. Poor Stumpy.
