I think after watching that
video I am gong to build a small scale pond/wetland. Here is my situation. It wouldn't be quite so bad except that I am having to make do with what I have right now and that means utilizing the shed that was allready in existence upon our arrival and that happens to be placed in the WORST possible portion of the property. All of the run off from my front acre pasture rivers through and drains infront of the shed and down to a creek that splits the property roughly in half. until I moved about 1 foot of dirt into the shed from the leftovers of the later mentioned septic installation all the water went THROUGH the shed. To make matters worse about one foot down through heavy soil and you hit clay..... Make a pot on a wheel, greasy, heavy type clay. When we had to replace our failing septic system the perk test holes actually filled with water after I dug them. We had to go with an aerobic system becuase the dirt just won't drain. Which ends up further complicating the problem. The aerobic system sprays the water on the a pasture after treating it. so....
The animals of course beat down all the vegetation in front of the shed. water from the pasture when it rains (
alot this year) and now the septic system water, daily, runs right through a major animal area. So what I have this year is sucking disgusting greasy mud all the time in front of my critters house and where I and they have to walk. Bad for flies, bad for goat feet, bad for breeding cocci. The problem can no longer be avoided or just dealt with because of the new septic system and the daily water spraying. I will take some before and afters...
