I do a shortcut on a notification on something posted... I end up having to relog in and the farmer guy, the wood grain, and the ads are back. Yes I have vatlods of pie. I went to my personalization to turn them off, submit, they're still there. Happened between 1 am and 3:30 am on 28 July Central Daylight time.

Even weirder, between 3:38 and 3:41 am I tried several times to reset to get rid of such (woodgrain, ads, and the PermieGuy logo) and they remained. Now they did disappear. Time warp, twilight zone, system hiccup or Devaka doing overtime? (who by the way works very hard and is great!)

Is it possible that somehow the "mobile view" was being triggered?

It didn't seem to be. I hadn't logged out and went to the 'there has been a post to this topic' email, clicked the link, and it dumped me into 'Login' then the wood background, adverts, and the farmer logo, would not turn off. I tried several times to turn them off and they were still there. Then suddenly they were gone.

The anomaly is gone now. What I was getting was as if I was a new user with no pie and showed up. I had to log in when I had not logged out, and the view with the woodgrain, the ads, and the farmer; was my view, after I logged in. I went to My Profile, found it was toggled to turn all that off but it was showing it all to me. I untoggled and retoggled and resubmitted it several times during those minutes I listed, and suddenly, it went to recognizing the toggles. It's not doing it any more. I had last been checking things at the time I mentioned, when I came back at the second time, a few hours later, I was greeted with the having to log in and the mess. It hasn't done it again, and I have nothing to capture to show. It was like the system had a hiccup.

Don't know if the issue I've noticed is related, and I'm no software techie, but here's what I've seen happening last two days:  I go to My Posts, on the top-bar menu, I click it, and on the list that comes up every one of the entries (showing the threads I've posted on) displays some other member's name repeated all the way down the list - as if he'd posted to all those threads.  But when I click to see the most recent posts on those threads, the guy's name doesn't show up.  Very weird.

The unfortunate upshot is that I can't tell if any of those threads have been active since I last logged-on and checked My List.

Seems like some kind of database function has gone haywire.

It's still that way today.  So, Thyri, I wonder whether anyone has noticed our heads-up?  Or if this thread was started concerning a completely separate issue which the techies believe is solved?  (Meaning - do we need to start another thread?)

This parrot is no more. It has ceased to be. Now it's a tiny ad:
