missing emoticons?

This is an observation, not particularly a criticism (it could be, I guess) or a wish to go back to life with 'expressive faces'.....just my view and I'm smiling while writing it......

I didn't expect to feel like words are falling flat without little faces to add expression......maybe I've just gotten lazy and used them too often in the past to be sure my words were taken the correct way....

I generally use text smilies which convert to pictures so I didn't even notice the button was gone.
