Hi I am new to this website and I have decided to join because I am trying to make yarn with fiber that I have harvested from pineapple leaves. The fiber is used extensively in the Philippines to make formal wear, table linens, bags, mats or any other time that a lightweight but stiff and shear fabric is need. I dont know where to start but I have made crude cordage while playing around with the fiber. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated while I wait for my drop spindle to arrive.

I have no knowledge of the subject.  I just took a look through Google Images and discovered many items made from Pineapple fiber. This isn't cheap cordage material. Wedding gowns and men's wedding shirts and other formal attire are made from this fiber. A perfect raw material, in a place where pineapples grow.

Welcome.

Are you starting with the leaves or the already prepared fibre?
