This, obviously, does not quite fit the herbal medicine category... but, I wonder if anyone here may have experience with Chinese medicine in terms of acupuncture, acupressure, t'ui na, etc?  An area in my right hand, identified as the "Laogong Cavity" in Chinese Medicine - a pressure point in the palm, below the index finger,  has been itching and tingling for some time.  The itching is not in the skin or on the surface, but is at the acupuncture level... "between heaven and earth".  It is quite annoying and I'm sure it must have some significance in regard to chi flow and health.  I do not have a doctor of Chinese Medicine or acupuncturist I can consult right now.  Would anyone here be knowledgeable or could you recommend a forum or something where those who know discuss such things?

I'm not familiar with "Laogong Cavity" but am very fond of more holistic approaches to health. Not much has been proven by western science but there's some of evidence of "oriental therapies" increasing endorphins and for what that's worth, it does make some people feel better. I've tried acupuncture and wasn't too impressed but many musicians I respect claim it helps their Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tendonitis and Bursitis.

Tai Chi Chuan on the other hand is great - specially when I was weaning myself off hypertension maintenance meds. Many respected athletes claim the same benefits from yoga.

I figured it out.  The tingling/itching migrated from slightly off center of my palm, to below the knuckle of my index finger, which is a major acupuncture point for the stomach.  I began massaging that on both hands and doing qi gong - I had about a 48 hour period of constant burping and indigestion.  After that, I felt much better.
