Is anyone having any success with herbal treatment of tinnitus?

I've been suffering from fairly advanced tinnitus for several years. Is anyone familiar and had any success reducing the symptoms with herbs or herbal tinctures?

I have tinnitus after an earinfection. Not as load as some, but it started to bother me. I got a.good book for phyto therapy, it said ginkgo biloba, which i need anyway for memory. Been taking it a few weeks and it seems less, but funnily enough i forgot to take it now for some time.
