I bought a cool tool! Was $5.00, I think it's worth it. But not for what it was made for.... planning to violate it's little warranty, and make it useful!
According to the net
Garden Grabber Rake it is for picking up leaves. Uh. No. It would be pretty useless for that.
I think it wants to be a fruit picking device. Possibly with a cloth tube coming off it to send the fruit down. My mom said "That's huge! Are we going to be picking melons out of the trees?!" I told her about how pumpkins and cucumbers climb trees if they are allowed to! But I'm thinking more put it on a long pipe and use it to pick fruit. Any good ideas I need to consider? Please pass them on!! :)
The claws close when the wire is pulled, that's easy enough to extend down, like a pruning saw clipper thing. It's 17 inches diameter when open.
It needs cleaning, bending straight, and greasing badly. It's been maltreated.
But a cool thing, needs ideas for how to make it do useful tasks!
