Hi everyone at Permies.com, I got involved in Permaculture five years ago, whilst volunteering at a reforestation project in India, Sadhana Forest, they gave me my first Permaculture experience and I loved it.  Since then I have been on a steep learning curve.  Two years ago, My wife, daughter and I bought land in the Sierra Nevada mountains ofSanta Marta in northern Colombia.  Using Permaculture practices we have been building and cultivating the land.  We offer places to volunteers and I teach them about Permaculture, so far more than 300 people have stayed with us.  We are building a dome and some accomodation blocks so that we can offer formal training fascilities to offer PDC courses.  This is why we have started this crowdfunding project, I would love for you to have a look at our video in the link below, and if you like it, please share and support us, we appreciate it.  Thanks Russ

Hi Russ! Welcome to permies! Thank you for sharing about yor crowdfunding campaign with us to establish a permacultuee center in Columbia!

Perhaps, some people may not be able to contribute money, but they may be able to contribute their own time and energy. Might I suggest WWOOF'ing as another option to help get this project off the ground.

Hi, I have been a member for years, but more just a reader of the dailyish emails and visited the forum to look for information... for the past five years I traveled and lived as a Volunteer in many projects, I have had over 300 volunteers come to our farm in the last two years... I use Workaway rather than woofing at it is one fee for an international database rather than one fee one country as is the database for woofing, we love hosting and I give all the volunteers whom stay a minimum of two weeks with us a six part introduction to Permaculture.. the people whom backed our crowd funding project have been my friends and volunteers whom stayed with us, or even hosts where we volunteered.. it’s such a great thing to be a volunteer or to host.. you learn and share so much.. thanks

I want to share some photos of our project that we are crowdfunding for, one of the major things apart from teaching Permaculture is planting trees and designing systems for the local farmers to use to give them an alternative to farming coca which is made into cocain, I have found that sacha  inchi is a great alternative..  this is tropical permaculture things move quickly any body who has experience in tropical permaculture is more than welcome to share any ideas they may have we are still currently crowdfunding you can sponsor a tree or invest in one of our courses what a fantastic gift . Lots of love from our farm Love Grows
