Sadly, it isn't just china. All of American location data and phone conversation goes thru the government to catch the 'bad buys'.
And amazon is selling facial recognition software and connecting CCTV to the hive for the avg police department to catch bad guys(pickpocket-er) and the federal government have even more advance system to catch the bad guys (terrorist). I have also heard that our anti-terrorist government agency hack the Chinese network and the chinese also hack our networks and pretty much every state is keeping tabs on the next state. And the avg fraudster/organize crime jump in from time to time too.
Just like in china pedophiles/sex offenders can't live near schools.
CCTV fine speedsters and then insurance goes up.
Heck just living in a zip code with bad people increase your insurance.
Have a arab looking immigrant name and you can't book a flight.
Even if a powerful news agency makes fun of the government they are banned.
It is sad that we are slowly returning to a serfdom system.
China started out using said system on just minorities/immigrants and now expanding it to everyone.
It see the same happening in the west, it starts out with just one low caste group (minority/etc) and if we cant respect them soon it spreads to the entire populous.
Yet the foolish masses embrace it! Let's get the newest smart phone so the government can track us! Let's get Siri so every word we say can be monitored even in our own homes! Can't wait to get a driverless car so my every movement can be controlled!
If it ever becomes a cashless society we are truly screwed. We can be "unpersoned" with the click of a button. Instead of it just being paypal, it can be every dime you have and even your very identity. I think there will be some BIG shakeups before that happens though.
I only use burner phones bought at the dollar store and then keep the battery out. No siri, and while my '99 Crown Vic has some computerized components I don't think it can be programmed to drive into a tree at 90 mph (which the CIA can do with some newer vehicles).
Never trust an airline that limits their passengers to one carry on iguana. Put this tiny ad in your shoe:
