I recently secured 60 acres of land in the West Texas dessert with which to build a homestead. I am a 54 years-young woman looking to get out and away and begin a life of simplicity and meaning. Would love to eventually have a communal homestead with a number of folks living and sharing life together. But, Iโ€™m getting ahead of myself here! To start, Iโ€™d just like to find a like-minded partner to share work , resources, good and hard times, ideas, and successes.
I  have some pretty good animal husbandry, hunting, and cooking skills. I can build simple things like chicken houses and I learn very quickly.
Earthbag structures are part of my dream, along with raised beds and true off-grid living.
Certainly not a plan for the faint of heart or sound of mind- but thatโ€™s no good reason not to go for it! โค๏ธ

Great!  I was hoping it was not Terlingua.  Been there and done that.

Kelley! Are you out of your mind lol

I have to say Iโ€™m definitely in on everything you said except the communal thing. I like my real seclusion and the ability to acquiesce with nature and a beautiful woman hehe

Anyway, Iโ€™m definitely looking to build and retire or retire and build so letโ€™s talk
