Hello,

To all who made this website thank you for the community!

Over the past few months, I have been having some what of a quarter life crisis, with many tragic events.

I took some time off work, and delved into my designs/inventions and did a lot of study.
From this time I have decided to change careers to become a microbiologist!

I am fascinated by DNA and the codes of life!

I believe that DNA can be altered & used to manipulate energy and mass, to transform land & water environments with biological life forms.

I have also been looking into how the potential of how DNA can be used to produce more advanced material and construction.

I believe that, while permaculture is great in its communities and sustainability and moral values. It in my current opinion lacks somewhat in for highly technical development, research, funding, resources, political influence.

I will likely inactive on this website and moving towards more of a sustainable agronomy/ sustainable innovation for making high monetary gain.

I think permaculture needs to realise that while Mollison/lawton/holgrene may be more inclined to moral reasons to shy away from making a lot of money! Money is an amazing resource that needs to be captured and stored and used.

I think that people in permaculture are more inclined to try and be self-sufficient, and this can often lead to reduced income and in some ways a level of poverty in the rich western world.

Whilst I believe money may have no use when we are dead, and it is important to take care and improve the world for future generations.

I believe it is very important to realise that one can be an ethical socialist/capitalist, even if it is abundance based automated social welfare.

The wealth of a nation is in its people, its people gain wealth from the environment of the nation.

By working with organisations to profit from moral and sustainable industry, I believe that I may help in a small way to help move commerce to be more guided to my beliefs on what wealth really is!

thank you for reading/listening to my rant/thoughts during my quarter life crisis!

I am still processing these thoughts, and am open to other peoples opinion, with the exception of politics and communism etc as I do not want to go into that!

Alex

Hello,

I am looking go discuss Marine Microbiology!

First lets discuss the components, and the cycles, then later lets discuss the implications!

Kind regards,
Alex
Hello,

This thread started 9 years ago, since then development in AI has grown significantly,

Its not hard its just adding the physics and chemistry aspects in GIS and adding Biological data such as growth rates and collecting data to form trends.

It would be easier to make a GIS Photogrammetric AI, to harvest data and run updates, this would provide a living model of what is happening, add an aspect such as shading and heat sensing, and you can determine water amounts in the soil as well as microclimates.

You could take the Physics and chemistry as far as you want. and make the system as complex or as simple as you want.

but you would have to run this through a probability analysis check in the routines. as well as utilising the life cycles of animals and plants and the seasons.

it would not be hard at all to do all of this Just very time consuming,

But then one would need to be able to identify changes to the system and be able to determine if old data is still revel event. such as someone flattens the land and plants crops instead of running cattle.

I guess, Co2 sensors could be built and regular core samples added and updated, as well as options to add and create new variables for plants and add the various forms of data and a weather station could be included.

Yeah, Not hard just very fiddly and time consuming!

I see this exact thing happening in Texas.  It makes me sad.

People with big money drill lots of wells to keep their ponds full of water.  Especially when our type of rocky soil does not support ponds.

When these big money folks are gone so will the water in our aquifers be gone.

Let me explain better what I meant, It is so much more profitable in terms of a nations economy and long term to have proper management of land and have soil with abundant life.

Yes it can be very easy to make money quickly in environmentally destructive means!

harvesting energy from the sun through photosynthesis and building up the energy in a nations environment has significant value adds in passive means.
It also reduces numerous issues.

This conversation is going to move on towards how management of everything is done with lack of full understanding of how everything interacts thus with limited thinking, planning is limited and numerous problems occur. and these problems are just juggled around and grow worse.

Hello,

I have been developing a number of designs to improve this set up!

I have new designs!

I have several designs in terms of utilisation of refraction so that plants can grow heavily shaded and in more regulated temperatures.
The benefit of several of these designs is that they work as water storage suppliers to underground aquifers building up the water tables. while developing biomass and propagating animals and insects.

additionally I have be working on several designs to have a 1 acre home being entirely off the grid suppling enough food. water, electricity, and taking care of its own waste for a family of 4.  primarily most people do not factor ad Astra and below ground.

For most parts, in my designs it has become obvious that most people just have not considered life to an elemental level or considered an entire life time in terms of work and energy and applied a social value to every action in terms of its long term benefit for hundreds of years after wards.

In doing so I have been able to realise that most people just do not understand the components of the the 17 nutrient cycles for plants. Nor how each component of the soil web works or how the transformations of energy work in terms of the food webs. or the roles they play.
Neither have they considered the value of genetic diversity even in inactive genes.
Nor do they understand the most important aspects of Light.

When I consider all these factors and more, It makes it hard for me to understand how people do not know these things and do not understand what is worth any value.

I am wondering why if people just utilised understanding about some of these basic aspects, they do not understand that everything is solvable and no problems should exist. Money is worthless.

The only real issue that exists is ignorance!

Hello,

So for me My favourite Christmas song is Gloria,
But the song I hate the most is Australian Jingle bells followed by Feliz Navidad.
My reasons is having to sit though years of school kids doing the same presentation of the two songs each year at the local carols.

Dashing through the bush,
in a rusty Holden Ute,
Kicking up the dust,
esky in the boot,
Kelpie by my side,
singing Christmas songs,
It's Summer time and I am in
my singlet, shorts and thongs

.
Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia
on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.

.
Engine's getting hot;
we dodge the kangaroos,
The swaggie climbs aboard,
he is welcome too.
All the family's there,
sitting by the pool,
Christmas Day the Aussie way,
by the barbecue.

.
Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia
on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.

.
Come the afternoon,
Grandpa has a doze,
The kids and Uncle Bruce,
are swimming in their clothes.
The time comes 'round to go,
we take the family snap,
Pack the car and all shoot through,
before the washing up.

.
Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia
on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.

Hello,

My experience with 3D printers is limited, However I do have a brother who works as a Repairer and installer of 3D printers.
As well as I have worked with companies who have used 3D printers to repair and optimise equipment.

I have also studied Photogrammetry and a student the year prior turned his project into a 3D print out of a church made from 17 photos.

Additionally I have been part of group challenges such as collecting wasted bottle caps from Cafes and restaurants to be recycled into Filament to make prosthetics parts for children.

Additionally Because of my child hood dream of robotic spider to make clothes. I have been looking into the use of Fungi as bricks and use for Printing clothes.
And it has a lot of potential but as it stands can not be used to fill the material demands of the world.

Another large issue is that Proper metal 3d printers cost around 1 million Australian dollars. Quote my Brother. Internet states 80k - 1M.

Some of the ways that 3D printers could improve lives is through localised manufacturing.

Which could reduce the Transport emissions and reduce the warehouse issues.

as well as reducing Significant amounts of logistics and reduce some practices which do not treat humans with the dignity that they deserve. (PG version)

I also think that 3D printers will have a lot of benefit in the right to repair movements.

Hello,

The main risk is lack of clear expectations,
You will need to set up clear expectations and talk about what you need to undertake the task properly!
I also recommend taking a 1 to 2 week break from your current Job to trial working at people up the road.

This will reduce risks!

I also recommend not burning any bridges with your current employer!

As to what you choose, Keeping clear expectations, ensuring you are provided with the resources and support to work properly is essential.

As is maintaining positive relations with your current employer is important!

Regards,
Alex.

I recently left a company which was like family, to go work at a company for really good money and opportunities! I found the new company to lack integrity and Respect. I found myself being publicly insulted for no reason by a senior, in terms of slander to my work ethic and sexist and homophobic remarks. I was then threatened for following directions. A director called me to his office and threatened termination based on what the senior staff member had said, so I just stood up and said thank you for the opportunity my gear will be in the store room and I will flick an email to accounts to let them know and Ill check right out of the Hotel!
Then did so, and emailed my past employer to let them know because they are listed as my references.
I have no Idea what was going on with that other company and that senior staff member and I do not care!
I could afford to be unemployed for a couple weeks and find new employment!

It is not uncommon for companies and people to not be a good fit!

I am also sure you know of many new owners and farmers employing staff and finding them to not be the right fit!

These reasons are why I suggested as above!

It sounds like a great opportunity but one that I think you need to be wise about!

Hello,

If the paint tin is rusted out then repot the paint.

if the paint is like mud then you will need to dilute it and stir it.

then you will sieve the paint to another container through some women's stockings with white paint it is called milking the cow because you look like your squeezing milk out of the stocking.

Your hands will get paint on them so have a rag near by.

Please note that one pair of stockings makes 3 sieves.

Hello,

I recommend a book, Called from seeds to leaves, by Doug & Robin stewart.

I like this book because it states how to germinate many seeds from Australia how to harvest them and process them and grow them on a micro to industrial scale.

However this is used for Australian seeds the list of Process is extremely in-depth and easy to understand both visually and textually!

Additionally many threads on this site show how to process seeds in many different ways!

Now to the business aspect!
As my father says, If your going to do any business start with a cash flow projection!
this means costs of doing business and predicted earnings!
90 percent of the time you will over estimate your ability on this!

you will want to identify your target market!

you will want to select a first draft of what type of seeds!

you will look at where your competition is and where your customers are!

most customers least competition!

you will want to market yourself this means branding and presentation, you can look at comperable designs and systems

and use these to exopodite your development!

you will want to network and find friends and mentors!

you will want to Look at your point of sale systems!

you will want to look at sampling the market in small quantities  in a test venture this is likely to be in market stalls!

This will likely be frustrating for the first venture!

After this you will want to evaluate moving forward!

If you consider moving forward make sure your customers have consistent and reliable products with clear communication and good customer relations!
and with this product set yourself apart from everyone else with a point of different! Increase your value by increase the opportunity value of a customer buying your product and not someone else's!

Initially you will want to stay in a small but focused variety of products!

If you want to invest in custom markets and signs do so, but also realise the over head of this and the logistics of this, you may want to consider setting a period of time into studying business and commerce and looking at how to save on taxes! and learning about the copyright law!

Ideally you want to move away from individual sales and into larger sales such as 200 to a nursey etc at a time, or supplying to a construction company or landscaper, this will mean consistent and reliable income.

Or you could supply an environmental group such as is done by two sister in south America, who finance reforestation by selling seedlings!

But this also comes with added bureaucratic and political risks, so it is best avoided because of the volitivity of such a process!

I hope some of this information assists you!

Regards,
Alex
