Diuretics: dandelion root tincture or dandy blend tea, or helichrysum essential oil ( I use edens garden brand).  Watch out with the magnesium recommendation above if you are on high blood pressure pills You'll find sometimes, that you have a lower blood pressure with magnesium supplementation. I'm no doctor, but I heard from one that sometimes it is a magnesium deficiency that causes high blood pressure in the first place.

Funny to see your post today about microgreens. I just watched a video 2 days ago about broccoli microgreens being one of 3 key foods to add to a Mediterranean diet to really burn visceral fat rapidly. The other two were walnuts and salmon. Good luck with your growing!

That is a thought. Thistles are the one plant we work hardest at removing from the garden. You are not planning on planting them in a garden though... Natives are a great addition to your land. Thistles are cool in their own way, bring edible and a pollinator. I think if I did a butterfly garden, they would fit right in. I will be curious to see what you decide.

I received a letter in the mail today. It was from the county. They've issued me an address. It is a small step but it somehow makes this homestead build into a very permanent thing.

Three was a mama and two baby doves that had camped out on the front steps for a couple days after leaving the nest.

I have many helpers in this project.
If I did not have these helpers, this build would have cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars, which would have made the project not happen.

Tiny is in the eye of the beholder, I think. While the living space in this house, not counting the greenhouse, is 1188 sq feet, my current house only has 892 sq feet. Therefore, this house is going to feel giant!  There will be an unfinished second floor for storage space, and if, in the future, someone needs to move in, I will have the area available for them.  I like to keep my living expenses down by keeping my footprint small, so I can retire someday.  

Plus, there will be a woodshop in the attached garage, so definitely, yay on that.

I see you are in 5a, do you see much heavy snow? I am wondering if you have some kind of system planned to keep snow from dumping off the upper roof onto the greenhouse in the event of a blizzard. My house is a similar shape and I would love an attached greenhouse but I can't figure out how to protect the glass.

This project is in zone 4. (I currently live in 5a)  We don't get as much snow as years ago, but we still get snow. I will be going with the snowcatchers that are installed in the roof, so that it doesn't all flop onto the roof of the greenhouse in one fell swoop.

The septic permit was approved and now we can apply for the building permit. The septic gets installed next week!

I might agree with how effective they could be if they eat a lot in a short time but I am concerned that apparently they can jump. Just how high do they jump? I wouldn't want to be sitting there minding my own business, to be interrupted by a jumping worm hitting "my own business"
