All in all, I liked it, especially knowing what posts I got "likes" on, as this is rather difficult information to find out. I do wish, however, that the links to the "liked" posts contained the information about the threads. For example, instead of saying "https://permies.com//forums/posts/preList/0/407328", it'd be nice if it said, "https://permies.com/t/52406/cascadia/Cascadia-Bloggers-Websites-Facebooks-Project#433240." The 12 threads above the "apple" and "like" posts were listed in the latter format, so I could tell what they were about before clicking, but not so with the "apple" and "like" posts. I don't know if it could be changed or not, but it would be nice!

there is a box to check at your profile to be notified when you get an apple and another for when "someone liked your post" Both have links to the post where it happened.

I received an apple once but I don't know what that means . . .

The subject line is "why did I get an apple core?"

Can you give a link to the post where you got an apple core?

This link that Anne posted is probably the best explanation of apple core stuff.

Looks like there may be a confusion of terms.  In your subject line you say an "apple core".  In your message you say you don't know where an "apple" came from.  Those are wonderfully different things.

Apples come to people for making good posts.  They're like a big thumbs up.  Once you've been a good poster on the site long enough you get the ability to give an apple a day to posts that you think are worthy.

Apple cores are the opposite and there aren't many of them.  If you ever do get a core, the links Anne and Paul posted would help you figure it out.

It looks like you have only ever received apples (no cores) so keep up the good work!

You frighten me terribly. I would like to go home now. Here, take this tiny ad:
