Most of my oily dishes are from eating bacon:
Oily plate-bowl:

dry:

The oily water went to the yard. I'm sure some microbe enjoyed the bacon-flavored water very much.

I had a meal of potatoes, broccoli and a very fat cheesy cheese sauce (with butter in it too).

Afterwards the plate looked like this

- 95% goes into a compost or animal bucket

Animal? No problem!

'I can even do more than 95%', doggie thinks

'You see? It's all clean!'

Scrape of what's left with a piece of paper ...

Almost nothing on the paper. You can't start a fire with this

To make it 100% clean I need boiling hot water

Pouring the hot water over the plate

Wiping it clean with a (new) rag

Do you see how clean it is?

I hope you will take this journey with me.  This redemption arc, if you will.

Greasy plate from bacon draining on a towel on it.

The dogs were happy to help with the pressure wash phase.

There wasn't any scraps to scrape off since the bacon had been on a towel on the plate.

Couldn't figure out how to take a picture while juggling a tea kettle with hot water and pouring it over the plate so hopefully these are enough pictures?
