Many packages these days contain those small sachets of silica gel granules.

Living in a humid environment, I've been reusing them in the wardrobe to prevent mildew and they seem to work well.

However, does anyone know if they can be used in containers to keep seeds dry after the initial drying process?

Will they aid or hinder storage?

From what I've heard, they will help. Seeds like it dark, dry and cold.

If they've been out in the open, they may have sucked up all the water they can and you may need to dry the silica out before you use them for another application. The gel I bought for a project suggested drying in a convection oven at 250F for 30-45 minutes.
