Hello everyone ! My name is Terry and this site is brand new to me. It took several weeks of searching through websites about off grid/ Homestead/ Preppers before I came to this site about permies. These terms are somewhat new to me and I wish I would have known to start with permies because it seems everything I need is right here! I have a confession to make. I am a real techno tarde and perhaps that is a badge of honor on a site like this. That being said I have never been a part of any forum and it literally took me a half an hour to figure out how to do my introduction post. For the most part all of this technology has passed me by and I somehow latch on to little pieces of it.
I am a 51 year old male who has often thought about living "off grid" and in the past two or three years have been reading a lot about intentional communities and people in off-grid lifestyles. Through circumstances Beyond My Control I find myself in Pennsylvania not knowing a soul much less knowing anybody interested in these types of things. I am hoping, within the year to purchase a piece of land and begin to experience freedom.
There is a vast wealth of information here and I can't wait to start picking through it. As I said I have never been on any Forum so I probably will lay back a little bit and watch how it works and maybe chime in here and there. I am generally shy and a little socially awkward but I look forward to and appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this community.
Cheers!
Terry

Hi Terry, and welcome to the site.  I'm 48 and used to be tech-savvy, but I find I don't care to stay on top of tech anymore, so you're not alone.

I've always loved PA for the mountains and trees.  Hope you enjoy it there even though you didn't have a say!
