Hello everyone ! My name is Terry and this site is brand new to me. It took several weeks of searching through websites about off grid/ Homestead/ Preppers before I came to this site about permies. These terms are somewhat new to me and I wish I would have known to start with permies because it seems everything I need is right here! I have a confession to make. I am a real techno tarde and perhaps that is a badge of honor on a site like this. That being said I have never been a part of any forum and it literally took me a half an hour to figure out how to do my introduction post. For the most part all of this technology has passed me by and I somehow latch on to little pieces of it.
I am a 51 year old male who has often thought about living "off grid" and in the past two or three years have been reading a lot about intentional communities and people in off-grid lifestyles. Through circumstances Beyond My Control I find myself in Pennsylvania not knowing a soul much less knowing anybody interested in these types of things. I am hoping, within the year to purchase a piece of
land and begin to
experience freedom.
There is a vast wealth of information here and I can't wait to start picking through it. As I said I have never been on any Forum so I probably will lay back a little bit and watch how it works and maybe chime in here and there. I am generally shy and a little socially awkward but I look forward to and appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this community.
