Looking through the Photo Albums ( Photo Albums are books where "in the old days" we kept our photos ) I have suddenly realised how the landscape around where we built our house has changed.
Where we had our house built - it use to be fields of farmland. Part of it still was farmland back then in the early 80's.
Over the farm 7 wire fence that divided our lot and the rest of the farm some 40 years before during WW2 there was a USA Military camp.
That area has now become the Auckland Botanical Gardens.
But back when we purchased our lot - over the back fence it was designated "The site for the Auckland Botanical Gardens but it still had cows and sheep grazing.
I'll add some photos of how the area was before and as construction of our house began. And over that 7 wire farm fence ( which is still there ) you can see the cows /sheep grazing on the land behind our peice of land.
Bringing it forward to today - over that same 7 wire farm fence - see how the Botanical Garden trees have grown - Our son has one of those drone thingys - he took the photo about a month ago.
Back when in the 80's - if he had the drone all you would have seen is green farm pasture - cows and sheep and a few groups of century old native Totara trees.
Be interesting to see the changes over the years of where you live??

Beautiful trees!

If you look closely at this tiny ad, you will see five bicycles and a naked woman:
