Harvested and roasted our first chestnuts today.  Wife and I both thought they tasted similar to a potato.

Congrats Gray!!!  I can't wait for mine to start producing.  I got flowers this year on them for the first time, no nuts yet but getting closer.  Very excited for you.

Went back and looked at my records.  The tree is a "pollenator" from Stark Bros and was planted Feb 2016 in our bottom land pasture.  The tree is around 10 ft tall and 3" in diameter.

Those look great. Ours are starting to fall from the trees already too. Seems a little early in the season. Be vigilant about picking them up daily or the weevils will ruin the nuts. Good luck for the next 100+ years with that tree!

Argue for your limitations and they are yours forever.
