How can we be sure these items are sourced from a sustainable economical community, and not recyclable?

Yuri,

A local garden store by me sells living Christmas trees.  They come with their root ball all wrapped up in canvas and packaged in a planter.  One decorates and waters like any other Christmas tree, then when the holiday is over, we take it out and plant it in the ground.

The tree is never cut down, it is planted and therefore a living Christmas tree.

A nice gift is a homemade pomander, Such as an orange studded with cloves and treated with rare oils and spices such as ambergris, frankincense and myrrh and coated with cinnamon and other spices. Wrapped in a gold ribbon held in place by pins and cured in a dry place, it is a an attractive gift that will remind the recipient every time they smell it.

I had another thought,

Several years at I was preoccupied with planting my orchard and fruit patches.  Complicating matters, we almost always travel for Christmas, a 7-8 hour journey.  We also stop at two sets of grandparents.  The whole trip is typically 5-7 days long, two Christmas’s and a LOT of stuff to pack.

For a time, one of my favorite gifts to ask for was bare root stock.  The beauty of this is multi-fold.

1). I really wanted/appreciated the plants.

2). The price was very reasonable

3). HUGE DEAL HERE!!! There was no packing involved.  The “gift” was a sheet of paper with a picture of the plant, along with the gift receipt and an estimate of the delivery date.

I loved getting these gifts and really loved the fact that neither my relatives, nor myself had to pack anything substantial!!

Yuri, I hope this counts towards your idea.

Wayne, Kedra toothpaste has cedar resin and cedar nut oil (Pinus Sibirica) flavor as these are main ingredients of the toothpaste.
I don't know how to describe it. I like the flavor myself and I have been using Kedra-3 for many years now. It keeps my teeth healthy, I did not visit a dentist for more than 20 years. It even removes tooth stone naturaly.
