There is some really good stuff about Diatomaceous Earth here https://richsoil.com/diatomaceous-earth.jsp

I've been using DE in the home for bug control.  It works a treat on fleas and it's pretty good at moth and carpet beetle prevention.  It's brilliant for chickens!  They end up eating most of it, but enough stays on that it gets rid of the mites and lice.

I don't like using it in the garden as it kills good bugs as well as unwanted ones.

Hi Stan;   Diatomaceous earth is wonderful stuff.  I buy food grade in #50 sacks and feed it to my pigs with their grain.
As it is food grade it is also good for humans.  I put a spoonful in my coffee each morning.
I edited your spelling on the title.

I use the powdered type on livestock feed & bedding. I've also dusted it on plants I had outside & brought in for winter.

I've used the larger stuff (not food grade) as a component in potting & bonsai container mixes. It is great for improving drainage and keeping the container mix aerated & moist. It's also a perfect medium for rooting cuttings. Because the particle size is so large (think perlite or regular cat litter size), it's not typically useful for pest control. I buy it in big bags from the auto parts store, where it's marketed for cleaning up oil spills in shops/garages.

Acetylsalicylic acid is aspirin. This could be handy too:
