I so wish I had thought of this, but it was my sister's idea.

This past weekend was our family reunion, this year held by my sister at her lakehouse. She had ended up with a huge pack of all white cotton masks, that her coworkers refused to wear because someone said that it made her "look like she was wearing a jock strap on her face" and too many of her coworkers agreed with the image.

So my sister took them and bought a set of tie-dye colors and rubber bands, and we all had a ball tie-dying our masks.  I didn't think to take any photos while it was going on, because I don't think about such things, but I will get some shots of my kids with their new masks when I get the chance.

A parent in my local homeschool group just posted photos of her tie-dyed masks. They were great! I'd like to do the same except with natural dye. I have a good friend who dyed a baby blanket with turmeric and it came out so beautiful! It looked like a bright, sunny sky! :)

I bought a bunch of appliques for my kids masks and now I have to get some plain ones of my own so I can use some of the other alien ones. They all pretty much say they want to leave the Earth and I think it's funny. There were also some mustaches and lips I think would be funny to put on.
