They just don't get it. This is a lake near me that they continue to just destroy. Horrible farming practices killed all the lake life. Then, as aggressive species move in to fix the lake, the gov't freaks out. In response, they spray more toxic chemicals onto the lake to kill the hydrilla. Crazy stuff.

The hydrilla would make a good compost ingredient. If more chemical agriculture were converted to organic ag, there would probably be a big enough market for the stuff to make harvesting it feasible. Hopefully, that day is not too far off.
