I wasn't sure where to post this, but I guess it fits in here. Some of you may have heard of this, I could just be late on the uptake. It just looked like something permie folk would be interested in hearing about. Maybe this isn't the whole story, I dunno. I wasn't sure where to fact check it at.

This was in a newsletter from Dr. Mercola:

"Steps have been taken to start legal action against the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) and the Lorain County Health Department for violating the constitutional rights of John and Jacqueline Stowers of LaGrange, Ohio.

The Stowers operate an organic food cooperative called Manna Storehouse. ODA and Lorain County Health Department agents forcefully raided their home and seized the family's personal food supply, cell phones and personal computers.

On the morning of December 1, 2008, law enforcement officers forcefully entered the Stowers' residence without first announcing they were police or stating the purpose of the visit. With guns drawn, they swiftly and immediately moved to the upstairs of the home, where ten children were in the middle of a home-schooling lesson. Officers then moved Jacqueline Stowers and her children to their living room, where they were held for more than six hours.

There has never been a complaint filed against Manna Storehouse or the Stowers related to the quality or healthfulness of the food distributed through the co-op."

OMG that is scarey, I've been hearing rumors of new laws against people that grow food even for their own use let alone for sale..but this is really scarey .

Yep, it's scary all right. Especially if the whole story was told.

Here is text describing this incident. I finally found some.

Well, it certainly sounds like the Neo-Nazi Movement is alive and well in Ohio government!  Starting with "registered sanitarian" Dorothy Kloos.

What's Governor Strickland saying about this situation?

there was a serious uproar about this on another forum months ago. I always wondered what happened and even questioned whether it was real or a concocted story. I don't know how to find out.  if it is real and they get by with it we all need to be ready for a civil uprising.

The cynic in me can't help but wonder what all was being grown or...concocted. Or perhaps it was assumed (by the law) that was the case. Maybe some other farm gave the law a phony tip, not liking their competition. Corruption is everywhere. Small towns & big. The way this bust is described sounds like something the DEA/ATV might do. Just guessing here though. I've searched around & couldn't find much more on this than what I've already posted.

Us, well...we're not even close to being ready for a civil uprising. Don't have any semi-automatic weapons around the house. Just hoping they'd kill me quick!

hearing on the news today that our president is strong arming companies with threats to destroy them if they don't play by his rules..well..it doesn't take much of an imagination to see what can be happening everywhere soon if he continues to get his way with his strong arm tactics..
