baler netwrap instead of straw?

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
I had been looking at exterior retaining walls.  If I can leave the straw out the wall will be more waterproof.  The neighbor has a huge pile of net wrap that he is just going to burn.  So would net wrap rolled into mud logs act in place of the straw?  Any one tried it.

No, but you could experiment with it.
Or find another use for the nets so it will not be burned.

Cob brick made with baler net wrap starting its 3rd winter.  Sitting on a block of firewood with a stick under one end so it wasn't flat and water would run off but out in the weather steady.  Very little visible deterioration so far.
