1 stove and 2 exhausts ?

The black bucket in the photo represents where I wanted to build the mass heater.
The kitchen with another stove was planned exactly on the other side of the wall...

Now, I want to build only 1 rocket stove in the kitchen,
brake part of the (fortunately) unfinished wall,
and have the heating mass heater more or less where the bucket is.

I would like to heat and cook with 1 stove, but in a warm area zone 11, no way, I will not heat in summer!
So I try to go out of the project to build 2 stoves....

QUESTION:

When I cook in summer, I will need to CLOSE the pipes going to the mass heater!
Preferably on the 2 sides of this stone/cement wall (now I have found lime)

Of course, there will be also a pipe circuit on the kitchen side, I do not wish a rocket that goes high in the sky...

)
And then, when the gas comes back from the main room, it will go out in the same outside exhaust as the kitchen's.

Has it been done before?
Possible?

What's about proofing all this ?

And here is the first plan of the kitchen side, proposed by someone who do it (though he never mention it as rocket stove)
There is a big earth/rock wall on the right, as I live on the side of a cliff.

The wood charging is on the right, then there are spaces for 2 boiling pot, warm place for after cooking, and oven + exhaust.

So I want to change the plan for a vertical fire place on the right, and a pipe going through the wall, behind the kitchen, and the heated sofa on the other side.

If this is not possible (technically, for gas-proofing), then I can still have 2 fire places there...

Someone can tell me if it is possible to have 2 smoke circuits with one stove?
and to close one when not used
What it can be closed with?

I decided, to be more practical, that I will do 1 stove + 1 biochar cooker.

As my kitchen is opened, the stove will be there, for real heating when it is raining,
and a sliding window will open to the main room for heating when I want
+ a warm sofa, thanks to the pipes that will go under the wall.

By closing the pipes going into the living room, Ii will be able to heat the kitchen even when the cave is already warm.

Thanks, that is very exactly the idea I had!
A long path and a short-cut.

I also had the other same idea, to have a sub-floor stove.
Actually, instead of breaking the wall, we dug UNDER the wall.

But then I am stuck there without knowing what to do for the cleaning of ashes.
Not much, but it does have some ashes to take out!
She does not mention how they planned this, and Paul said in the comments that he would ask Erica to tell in permies about the on-going of these innovations.
don't know if it was done...

Not totally sure if the RMH in this video has a baffle style switch over but I would suspect that it does. This video is of a cafe in Japan and the summers are really hot and humid. I would suspect the during the summer it can be turned to just heat the hot plate and oven.

I think it would be more efficient to build 2 separate stoves but use 1 exhaust. I've been mulling this over myself. The thing is, there are 2 types of rocket stoves - 1 that stores heat a 2nd that tries to transfer as much heat as possible to the heating vessel. Even in zone 4 I don't want to heat up a huge mass just to make a pot of tea!

Hola cj, you are right and sorry for my English mistake, I wanted only one stove at the beginning and I want to drop the idea IN ORDER to build 2 stoves!

And even with one stove,
I wanted to make 2 exhausts = a long + a short way
but joining again, with one ending exhaust pipe to outside.

So my idea is now a rocket stove for heating, and a pyrolytic cooker.
So I will have biochar...

(and i have opened a new topic for the project of maybe mixing rocket and TLUD... so that I can heat AND make biochar. That is why I do not speak more about pyrolysis here, but I would love that we speak about this!)
