One of my favorite fruits.  I planted several varieties of fig at my previous farm and intend to plant more here in KY zone 7A so they should grow well.

My first fig tree was already established at the first house I bought in 1978.  By the time my son was 2, he was racing me to gobble down the first figs it produced.  He's 49 now and would definitely beat me to the figs unless he took pity on me and let me have the first one as I sometimes did with him until he was about 6.  After that it was every man for himself.

Wish I could grow dates here.  Maybe when I build a heated greenhouse.

For my next feat, I will require a volunteer from the audience! Perhaps this tiny ad?
