Hi all,
I am interested in your experiences buying seeds. Specifically I am interested in Ernst Seeds, which I just recently discovered. They sell seeds by the pound, in all kinds of varieties. They are based in Pennsylvania, USA. They only sell by the pound, which means you can get a lot of seeds for certain types. Their ordering process is strange and unintuitive, but they have a phone number that you can call and place orders through, which is what I wound up doing. I believe they are oriented more for large scale projects than the stuff I am doing, but I am planning about 2000 feet of hedgerow for keeping hogs and goats, so I ordered a few good hedging varieties in bulk.

I will update this thread when my seeds arrive, and update again when I see how well they actually sprout.

Total listing for all their seeds is here https://www.ernstseed.com/products/individual-species/
Price list is here: https://www.ernstseed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/2022-Retail-Price-List-03.16.22.pdf

Has anyone ordered from them?
I know about Sheffields as well, but have never ordered from them. Anyone?

What seed sources can you recommend (or recommend against...)?

Thanks!

Purchase report:
I bought a few pounds of seeds, and they arrived quickly. They only sell by the pound, which is not what I am accustomed to. The ordering process is much easier if you just call in. The online system is not very intuitive.

I have not planted my seeds yet, so I can't say their germination rate. So far so good.

They are the least expensive seed shop I have ever found, by far, at least 50% cheaper than any other place I have looked.
