Hi there!
Finally get to leave the city for a 2 acre wooded lot in the Missouri Ozarks!!
I want to plant beans.....zone 6a. I will not have extra time and money to put into this so I am just going to have to hope that mother nature will be helpful.
Any advice is appreciated. We will be on a tight budget so any advice on feeding ourselves for less or otherwise saving money.... I'm all ears.

Since you are on a tight budget, why not try experimenting with some beans from the grocery store?
Pick the one you like to eat and plant them.
Be sure to keep them watered once you plant them.

Thank you Anne. I know this is a year or so later but thank you anyway! We are excited as my hubby can collect social security ina couple of years and we think we can homestead on that with careful living....small solar setup, hand crank water from our well, gardening, rabbits, chickens and building with natural materials. Heating with wood stove. Swapping our Prius for a Honda rebel two seater motorcycle. Then in another six years I can get social security and then we can live high on the hog!
But yes, I think part of this plan should be seed saving from the foods we eat. And growing with beans from the store!
I live closer to Oklahoma than you do but i grew up in nixa. We have the best luck with contender bush beans. Just dont plant them in the exact same spot every year.
