Road Dust Palliative?

Does anyone have experience or opinions re: using a Biopolymer spray-on Dust Palliative to reduce dust on dirt roads? Helping manage a large dusty ranch in Dry Dry California! Soil additives that are somehow still eco-friendly?

Forgive me if there is another thread on the subject; I did poke around a little!

Used cooking oil is a less polluting spray than asphalts.

At work, we used calcium chloride as an experiment. It captures moisture out of the air to keep the roadway damp and the dust down. Worked really good, side effects unknown. I know that the idea was that it's better for a downhill stream to have a little calcium and salt that a bunch of silt. I am not a ecologist/hydrologist though.

The Federal Highway Administration has a free guide on the construction and maintenance of gravel roads. The discussion of dust control starts on page 75. It turns out that clay is one option for dust control. If it is mixed into gravel it can help stick everything together. But the book discussed additional options.
