Why has spell check not recognized the term "permaculture?" Whether it's Microsoft Word, this forum, or any other text program I get a big red squiggly line underneath the term everytime. Should we seek the formal recognition of the word, like put it in the Dictionary or something?
Okay thanks. Yes I am using Firefox. It does it in Microsoft Word 2007 too, I do not know if it squiggles in a newer version of Microsoft. I just checked Merriam Webster's online and the word has been recognized.

Perhaps a newer version of M$ Word has it included. A full blown word processor usually has a comprehensive spell checker.
On the other hand, I believe that most browsers, in an attempt to stay 'lighter', will use a much more abbreviated version.
Some light weight spell checkers simply include the x-many thousand most commonly misspelled words.
