I have 2 old hens and and two new ones.
They are not really getting along .
They are nice longer fighting out in the yard, but they are not wanting to roost together.
Some nights one stays out, some nights I have to put each of them to bed by hand.
Tonight it was 3 put of 4 perched on top of the coop instead of in it.

Because my current neighbors are not jerks, I am planning on moving my chickens back into the greenhouse that was built them in the first place.
I'm not sure if I want to build them a new coop, move their current coop into the greenhouse or just put a perch over a some deep bedding.

I want to add two more birds, but that isn't gonna happen at this rate.
I'm hoping someone here might have a method for enticing them to bed down together.

Hi William,
I don't have experience blending flocks together, but it sounds like you are doing all you can there.

As for in the greenhouse, I think in a perfect world you would have a coop that you could move in and out of the greenhouse so it stays familiar for the chickens. Chickens like things to be the same (same place, same schedule, etc). However, I think they would do just fine with some perches over deep bedding. That is the method I used when I realized my mobile coop wasn't going to fit through my 4ft door to the greenhouse :)

Why am I so drawn to cherry pie? I can't seem to stop. Save me tiny ad!
