We have an 80 acres ranch which we call - The End of the Road Ranch. We are developing – "The Art of Sustainable Living."
To do this we need a community to help complete our projects.
It is our opinion that a critical imbalance of food demand and food supply is coming.
This crisis will peak sometime before the year 2030 leaving large groups of people without enough to eat. Food production is affected by changing weather patterns, factory farming, increasing price of oil, dwindling supplies in fish\crops, global debt, and inflation.
The demand for food will outstrip supply.
When the crisis comes, you have a choice either become a Grower, a Hoarder or a Detainee of the Homeland Security Dept.
Regardless of how much food you hoard, there is a limit. We have chosen to become a "Permaculture" Grower and build a community to share our knowledge and experiences with others.
Our plans on how to build a Community
No investment: – We are not selling any land or interest in the land. Material for all projects will be furnished, only your labor is required. You would be expected to work on the projects a certain amount every year.
Designated movable home required: A designated self contained RV, 5th Wheel, or Travel Trailer is required. There are only a limited number of full hook ups. You may remove your designated home from the ranch at any time, BUT you forfeit your site. Your site will be given to the next person on the waiting list. No tents or trailers homes or modular homes are accepted.
Expense: - These are full hook up sites with sewer, water, electric, and wireless Internet. There is no site rent or charge for the sewer and water. Electric is metered - you paid for you use. Wireless Internet, if desired, is a fixed yearlong-shared charge paid in advance.
We are taking applications for a limited number of sites. These are a place to go, not necessarily a place to move to, but you could stay full time.
Trial Period: There will be a trial period of from 3 - 6 months with definite goals and objectives. The purpose of this period is for both sides to determine if this is a workable arrangement.
Once the trial period has been completed you may and come and go as long as the following conditions are met.
Guests: Guests are welcome with tents and/or campers for short-term, there are no full hook ups for guests.
Firearms: - These are encouraged, but not required.
Illegal Substance: No illegal substance allowed or grown on the Ranch.
Hunting: – No hunting until "it" hit the fan. There are Elk and Deer herds on the ranch. They are our long-term storage of protein "on the hoof."
Pets - it is depends on the pet. The chickens are free range and have to be protected.
Shed: Each site may have its own private shed and/or garden. It is expected that the garden would produce most of site’s food. If a resident leaves they must take the shed and the contents with them.
Food Supply – By the first 3 – 6 month review, each residence is expected to have a plan or have stockpiled, for their use, a one-year of supply of:
Staples - such as: salt, baking power, spices, sugar, gelatin, flour, rice, shorting, mayonnaise, peanut butter, vegetable oil, pasta, corn meal etc.
Personal Items – First Aid Kit, toilet paper, personal hygiene, toiletries etc.

Community Give back
The End of the Road Ranch sponsors and has special programs for our local 4-H Self Reliance Club. Children are going to need to know how to be Self-Reliant.
The End of the Road Ranch
The Ranch is near the Oregon coast located 7 miles from the nearest town of 1300 people. The ranch is surrounded by 20,000 acres of logging land. It is like a land locked island of 80 level acres surrounded on two sides by one mile of riverfront with salmon, cutthroat trout, and steelhead.
It has a 40 X 100 newer pole barn, a community kitchen, new septic system, 200 amp electrical service, duck pond, and a dilapidated horse barn. There are 5 miles of logging roads and three (3) locked logging gates to get to the Ranch.

Warning: only ATT cell service available at the End of the Road Ranch.
The End of the Road Ranch is close, yet remote

Why these Free Classes\ Seminars?
The more you know about your strengths, joys, and happiness the more psychologically self-reliant you become.
Our plan is not designed to be your ultimate location, it may be. But it will give you time to find a location, arrange finances, and learn about permaculture while you are acquiring your ultimate location.
