Does anyone have a source for 1x36x48 CFB?  Preferably reasonably priced, and even better if located within a couple hundred miles of Detroit,  MI so that I could pick-up to save shipping cost. Thanks.

I found ceramic fiber board from a company called https://www.ceramaterials.com/ . They have an Amazon store and I did order it from Amazon. One issue I had was the first board was broken in shipping and I could not use it. When I contacted the company via Amazon they shipped a new board to me at no cost. If I remember it was about $100 dollars just for one board that was on Amazon.

I've had good luck sourcing ceramic fiber board in that size from places like McMaster-Carr and CeramicFiberOnline. You might also check local refractory supply shops — sometimes they have offcuts or bulk deals. Just make sure it’s rated for the temps you need (2300°F or higher if it’s for a forge or kiln). Some sellers on eBay also carry those dimensions, but double-check the density specs.
