I have self-grown kiwifruit plants in pots for their fifth year, among other things, waiting for a horizontal trellis to be made for them.  I have heaps of post, batten and wire fenceline, however, that a could grow them along.  Is there anyone out there that has successfully grown kiwifruit vertically along a fenceline?

Great job on growing kiwi!

The mature kiwi plants that I have observed grow on substantial timber structures.

I grew them on bamboo poles for about 6 years. They weren't large enough by that time to collapse the slight trellis.

Did you mean vertically or Horizontally?   Strong posts with strong wire along the top and anchored at both ends could allow them to grow up the post and then out horizontally.  With the wire at six feet keep the growth pruned to stay within 2 feet of the wire.  as the vines get older they also get more self supporting but also heavier and support more growth.  One lake side cabin near me became completely covered in fuzzy kiwi vines because they were not kept cut back.

What do you have to say for yourself? Hmmm? Anything? And you call yourself a tiny ad.
