Lawncare PSA - Spread some clover.

I understand that not all land can be converted to nature, gardens, projects and that some area is useful when it is lawn grass.

The #1 low cost, high impact thing that any lazy homeowner can do is spread some clover into their lawns.

White Dutch is perennial from zones 4-9, is a legume that can fix nitrogen to benefit grass growth. It also can and will grow in areas that grass does not easily take too.

It will provide for pollinators, grazing animals, and your soil.

You can get about 5lbs for $30 and it spreads easily by hand or with some sand in a seed spreader.

I'm planning on guerilla gardening some road verges in the near future...

I remember as a kid, almost all lawns contained clover.

I would sit for hours on different folks' lawns, looking for a four-leaf clover.

I thought those lawns were so pretty way back then.

I Found 4 leaf clover while walking the dog this morning. Pleasant surprise, I must be slowing down just enough to notice it, or  mabey the dog is getting old and moving slower. Gave it to my 25year old daughter who normally gives them to me. She smiled and put it in her wallet. You all Have a blessed day.

I was questioning over the winter the effectiveness of putting down clover seed in my lawn because I wasn't really seeing the establishment for the amount of seed that I put down.

Spring has revealed the clover to me! Holy cow, I'm pretty pumped. It has been raining all day so I haven't been able to take a picture but I'm pleased with my overseeding my lawn with dutch white clover.

Next step is to spread some compost.
