Masa harina is great for many things, but puffy tacos is not one of them. This is a case where freshly-made masa dough makes a pretty significant difference.

I have not had the pleasure of tasting one of these.I wonder if store bought flour tortilla would work, probably not.

Those look delicious. They look similar to Sopaipillos, which is a flour-based dessert. You have to start with dough to make them puff up.

My wife sometimes fries corn tortillas before making tacos. They puff a little bit, but nowhere near as much as in that video. Mostly they are just crispy and warm and delicious.
