Hello I am an adorable shorter woman with an awesome sense of humor & personality
I LOVE Who I Am!!!
I live in NM right now planning on relocating after remodeling is completed I live in a 5
bedroom ranch on 4 acres on the prairies. I should be in a forest somewhere that is where I truly belong…
I am looking for an Amazing Best Friend, I am heterosexual. I have vast skills. I use to raise livestock (chickens, ducks, goats, horses and I have a dog and an outdoor cat who comes in when bad weather)
I have a workshop with a lot of tools most new, I am learning how to use them comfortably. So I have Construction skills.
I have great gardening skills (grow most of food to sustain myself. Right now I have an abundance of food that I am trying to reduce in prep for a move
(I am not sure where life will take me, but opened to allow life’s journey to guide me)
I Am Totally Addicted To Music I sing allll the time & Love To Dance… I have acted in our local theater & enjoy it a lot…
I am Fricken Super Addicted to Hiking, Laughter & Have The Best Time Enjoying Just Living!!!
I LOVE Learning Teach Me
I Am Kind Hearted & Looking For My Equal Who Loves A Hard Days Work or Long Hikes

I would be great if this area was transformed into a forest rather then the Semi-Arid region it has become.  I am down here in Gaines County with 30 acres I have been working on when time permits, and my neighbor west of me is selling her 13 acre lot with double wide on it so I am hoping some one with like minded plans to green up this area and get more trees growing up around this area, that who ever it is that buys it up hopefully we become good neighbors and hopefully even good friends to help each other out and just enjoy life in the long run.  As for me I am going to be 47 in July and if I am not going to work, I am out here trying to improve my land for more self sustainability.  While looking to have more friends that would also like to help improve things out here and benefit from the food and resources that are produced.

Hello James
I understand it would be great if someone buys the adjacent property to yours and grows that area to something amazing… Truly will benefit the land
I have a lot of trees including fruit trees
I am hoping to find a great man who loves the forest and wants to homestead
I enjoy being outdoors and love hard work not one who likes to lye around
Would love to retire soon so to have time to enjoy life to its fullest

Hello Ms. Gem, this is Floyd Trammell PhD (post hole digger). I really enjoyed your post. I am a retired 65 year old native Texan with extra, extra large hands and I'm not afraid to use them.
I own 32 unimproved acres about 6 miles north of Emory, TX. It's not a forest but, it does have a bunch of trees. It's not secluded but, it is off the beaten path. There's not much there right now but, I plan to begin establishing a wonderful homestead in the near future after I recover from knee replacement surgery next month.
If you can tolerate the age and location, the rest is just compromise.
I'd love to hear your thoughts. If nothing else, at least maybe we can swap a recipe or two.
FT

Hi Marie,
I'm in Marcola, Oregon where I've been farming organic vegetables commercially for almost 20 years.  I am entering a new phase of life.  I want to transition from a high output commercial farm into one where I still support myself with my labor growing high quality vegetables for the local market, but on a part time scale.
Community, adventure, and self reliance are values I hold and want in my life.  The community is what I am missing.  My idea of who I'm looking for is maybe best described as a land mate.  Someone who is independent, who wants to explore their own personal way of connecting to the land and soil.   At the same time I see a connection through shared goals and working together, physically and mentally to achieve them.
I envision a potential group of 4-5 adults living on the land. Couples and singles are both welcome.  With the shared passion for growing food and living simply connecting us.  Independent yet connected.  Independent  meaning: self assured, self directed, hard working and financially stable.  Connected meaning: we  cooperate on projects, we look out for one another, we share a few meals per week or more, we feel inspired by each persons strengths, we strive to be the best person we can and acknowledge stumbles along the way, we smile and laugh and cry and sing and love.
I am open minded about new  romantic relationships but it's not the focus of my search for community. I am already with a beautiful woman who I love, but due to life circumstances and priorities we live an hour apart and while this was fine for many years I have come to feel like I’m missing something that I don’t want to live without.  I have been good on my own, but life feels richer shared and I think I live my best life, am my best self when I’m sharing and live life partially in service to someone else.

David

Reaching out because a number of things you mentioned are highlights in my world as well; to name a few, hard work, hiking/outdoor time, aspiring to more sustainable living, singing, theater, humor and dogs. While I enjoy my laughs, I balance that with quieter time in nature or with music/books.

I also live on land that is way beforested, which is my jam, with ~20 fruit trees and a 7500' space for gardens, though I appreciate the open / view / meadow areas around here as well. On another level, I carry both an ever re-charging joy and wonder for all the wonder this world holds, with a churning heaviness for the magnitude of the change to the climate and biosphere we're experiencing. It's a daily journey to balance these forces. And then, sometimes my mind sends me a jingle from an old TV commercial, just for fun.

I'd be open to a chat, if you'd like to connect, be that in buddy-world or something else, if that's what's called for. New to Permies here so not yet up on whether that happens in a direct message or adds to this thread of yours.

Sign off here with a few photos, and for a glimpse, five random tidbits. Cheers!

– I'd rather take a first date to haul wheelbarrows of earth for a land project then to a club
– If I were in a club though, and they asked me to DJ, my playlist would be such a random mix of soul, folk, classical, musical theater, early 1980's pop, and who knows what the heck else that they might retire me on the spot.
– I probably couldn't even get them a playlist though, as I don't have a smartphone
– No smartphone, but the minimalist guy I was, whose worldly possessions once fit in a suitcase now looks at me with a mixture of amusement and head-slapping, as living on ~5+ acres I have no fewer than five saws (among other tools), 10 (?) musical instruments, and a sauna.
– I generally prefer cooler temperatures, but in saunas, it's time to bring on the heat.

Attaching a few pics, but don't know if I can caption them As an Iphone-less guy, using random photos from previous friends' visits.

Cheers, and happy solstice-ing,
-Torsti
