Another great option is witchhazel. But, don't necessarily toss out the oils, either. While you'll want to avoid heavy oils and definitely coconut oil(because it's pore-clogging), other oils, like rosehip seed, grapeseed, & hazelnut are light oils, that will break down the excess oils of the skin, and cleanse it, they'll do so without drying out the skin. That's important, because when we strip the skin off it's natural oils, the natural reaction of the skin is to produce yet more oil.
The best way to do it is by 'oil cleansing'. Get tap water as hot as is tolerable on the face, and wet a face cloth, or better yet, a hand towel, squeeze out
enough water so it's not dripping, and hold it on the face for 3 - 5 minutes, to open the pores. Then, using just a little (less than a teaspoon) of the chosen oil, gently massage it into the face, with the fingertips, for a few minutes. Follow by wiping the excess oils off & *gently* exfoliating with the towel, and splash with cold water. This can be followed with a light spritz of rosewater, if desired.
