This is what we request of visitors to base camp and the lab:

SO many people are now familiar with Paul and the project that unannounced visitors are a real concern. Please help us maintain privacy by NOT sharing specifics about our location. If asked, please simply state it’s ‘near Missoula.’

A little effort will save a TON of headaches; this includes avoiding:
--any mention of towns, exits, nearby roads or directions
--any pictures with noticeable landmarks or boundary markers.

If you have visited or worked here, we'd love for your to post your pictures and/or videos. However, I should add one more thing to the above list:
--disable any GPS tracking on photos of paul's project.

Thank you for your discretion!

If possible, please post more points of good practice as they come up. You seem to be working out details of privacy in the info-tech age and I confess that I'm really hoping to learn the basics of this "new privacy" myself.

The camera gps is a zinger - nobody thinks of it and the info travels w/the pics. And I bet phones might do the same thing, if not w/voice or text then with various little convenence "apps" people seem to add into their phones all the time.
