I was searching through Youtube and stumbled on a video related to hog processing. I really enjoyed it and figured I would share!



I was surprised with the amount of fat on the pigs! I wonder if it makes sense to freeze some of it or to process it all right away.

I also found their ham processing video to be exceptional.

A great and timely post!   For the first time in many years I am going to butcher one of my pigs.   I needed the refresher.

I want to be 15 again …so I can ruin my life differently.

This video really helped me understand the different parts/cuts that can be obtained from a hog.



I'm still quite new to butchery of all animals so my cuts tend to have a lot of leftover 'stew meat'. I'm always trying to improve.

As I posted elsewhere, I butchered my first pig in several years.  I couldn’t see paying someone else to do it.   The videos were a good reminder.  Idid go by the advice in one of the videos and selected a small pig.  I am glad I did. It made things easier for me.

I want to be 15 again …so I can ruin my life differently.
